US Vs. UK (4)

US Vs. UK is a meme to compare the covers of a certain book and decide which looks best. It is currently hosted by Wondrous Reads and Bloody Bookaholic.

Today's Contestants:

Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

Summary: When the Mayflower set sail in 1620, it carried on board the men and women who would shape America: Miles Standish; John Alden; Constance Hopkins. But some among the Pilgrims were not pure of heart; they were not escaping religious persecution. Indeed, they were not even human. They were vampires. The vampires assimilated quickly into the New World. Rising to levels of enormous power, wealth, and influence, they were the celebrated blue bloods of American society.
The Blue Bloods vowed that their immortal status would remain a closely guarded secret. And they kept that secret for centuries. But now, in New York City, the secret is seeping out. Schuyler Van Alen is a sophomore at a prestigious private school. Suddenly, when she turns fifteen, there is a visible mosaic of blue veins on her arm. She starts to crave raw food and she is having flashbacks to ancient times. Then a girl from her school is found dead... drained of all her blood. Schuyler doesn't know what to think.
Could those vampire legends really be true? Steeped in vampire lore and set against the heady backdrop of the rich, young, and powerful in the heart of New York City, Blue Bloods will be devoured by Melissa de la Cruz's legion fans.

US: I've been seeing this in a stores everywhere, I've always been tempted to grab it. I like the detail of the city in the bottom, its' a nice touch. But, I find it too pale. The bite doesn't look, so great as in the UK cover.

UK: This one is my personal favorite I like everything from the font, the model, the pose, and the color of the image, it's simply stunning. I love it! I wish I could buy the UK version, but I'm in the US.

UK
WINS FOR ME

I would love to buy that version, although it isn't available in the US. It just screams BUY ME!

That's an interesting plot.:D I agree with you, the UK cover is so much better. The US cover looks so dull.

Hope you are having a lovely day!:D

I also agree that the UK is more interesting and therefore is my favorite. Great post.

lol, I totally disagree with your here. I think those pearls on the UK cover are just WAY too much!
And I like the city at the bottom of the US cover.

I love the UK covers so much for this series! And I know Amazon isn't the nicest of companies BUT I believe you can purchase the UK covers on their site. They've recently become available. See evidence (link) below.

I agree with the bite image, but I guess I like the US version better. The pearls in the UK version are just so damn big! lol

Hard to tell there are good things about both covers. That said, the color in the UK version will attract more attention on the shelf.
